Jill Wheaton Elected to Serve on Michigan Supreme  Court Historical Society’s Board of Directors

Law firm Dykema recently announced Jill Wheaton has been appointed to serve on Michigan Supreme Court Historical Society’s board of directors. She will serve a two-year term, effective immediately.

Wheaton is a member in Dykema’s litigation department and leader of the firm’s appellate practice. She is involved in high-profile appellate work, commercial litigation, and products liability defense. She is often called on to enter the case for the first time on appeal for cases across the country and has obtained reversals of adverse decisions, or sustained favorable rulings.

Wheaton was also a former chair of the State Bar of Michigan’s appellate practice section, serves on the appellate practice committees for the American Bar Association and the Defense Research Institute, and is also a member of the Michigan Appellate Bench-Bar Conference’s Planning Committee. She received both a bachelor’s degree and J.D. at the University of Michigan.

Established in 1988, the Michigan Supreme Court Historical Society promotes the study of the history of Michigan’s courts and seeks to increase public awareness of Michigan’s legal heritage.
