NSF International Names New Manager of Environmental Health Programs

Derek DeLand has joined  NSF International, an Ann Arbor-based global public health organization, as manager of environmental health programs.

DeLand will build awareness of NSF International’s standards, certification, registration and inspection programs among regulators and state, county and local health department officials.

DeLand has nearly 20 years of experience in environmental health. Previously, he served as the director of environmental health at the Lenawee County Health Department in Adrian and also served as a sanitarian for the Lenawee County Health Department. He is a member of the National Environmental Health Association.

Deland, of Ann Arbor, earned his Bachelor of Science in environmental geology from the University of Michigan and holds a master’s in public health with an environmental health concentration from the University of Illinois – Springfield.
