Crossroads for Youth Names New President

Marc Porter has been named president of Crossroads for Youth, a nonprofit that works with at-risk and disadvantaged youth and their families throughout Michigan. He had been serving as acting president.

Porter has been with the Oxford-based Crossroads for Youth for 15 years, most recently as vice president. He has also been treatment specialist, associate supervisor, program supervisor, and program director.

Porter previously worked for Easter Seals as a case manager for the Assertive Community Treatment program. Additionally, he worked for a Montana-based mental health organization, Golden Triangle, as a group home worker. He also worked at another Montana-based organization assisting developmentally disabled patients in a group home setting. Porter also served nearly 10 years in the Air Force as a fire fighter.

Porter received a Bachelor of Science in social sociology from Park University in Parkville, Mo., and a Master of Arts in counseling from Oakland University.
