DETROIT — Seattle-based RootMetrics released a wireless data network performance study for a Detroit airport, which ranks AT&T first at DTW as the RootMetrics Airport RootScore Award winner for its data performance. The study is the second consecutive RootMetrics Airport RootScore study for DTW in which AT&T ranked highest.

“Our customers rely on staying connected while they travel,” said Brian Ducharme, vice president/general manager for AT&T in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio. “They want to get in touch with colleagues, family, and friends before they leave or as soon as they walk off the plane.”

To provide a better customer experience, AT&T has deployed significant network enhancements like 4G LTE coverage and a Distributed Antenna System which consists of multiple strategically-placed antennas that distribute AT&T’s wireless network coverage in DTW, providing enhanced, more consistent wireless coverage to customers

“AT&T ranked first at DTW in Detroit for data network performance, according to our research conducted during the first half of 2014,” said Bill Moore, RootMetrics’ President and CEO. “We tested data performance across all networks in publicly accessible areas within DTW, including common areas such as check-in, baggage claim, and terminals. AT&T ranked first in the Airport RootScore Award for data network performance at DTW.”
