DETROIT — The Professional Group, a provider of interior and exterior commercial building maintenance and janitorial services, announced it has relocated its corporate headquarters to the Chrysler House, located at 719 Griswold Street in the heart of Detroit’s financial district.

The move, scheduled for August 2013, will bring 65 TPG team members from their location in Southfield to a 15,200 square-foot, state-of-the-art administrative, training, and resource center in Detroit. TPG will lease 15,200 square feet, or the entire 21st floor of the Chrysler House.

“This move represents an opportunity to reconnect with the energy and revitalization of a great American city,” said Joseph Ciolino, chief financial officer of BELFOR Holdings, Inc., the parent company of TPG and BELFOR Property Restoration, headquartered in Birmingham. The new Chrysler House location also will provide office space for BELFOR Property Restoration’s sales and project management teams serving the downtown Detroit area.

Founded in 1999, The Professional Group is focused on providing the finest service possible to its growing customer base, according to Doug Hamburger, President of TPG, adding that the company has grown to a national firm, with 1,500 employees operating across 26 states.

“Being in the heart of Detroit will allow us to expand our network in a way that is beneficial for our team, our clients, and our city,” said Hamburger.

Bedrock Real Estate Services, Rock Ventures’ full-service real estate firm, brokered the lease.

“The Professional Group is the latest service provider to recognize the growing number of companies doing business in downtown Detroit who need services that TPG offers,” said Jim Ketai, managing partner, Bedrock Real Estate Services.

Rock Ventures purchased the iconic Chrysler House, formerly the Dime Building, in August 2011. Built in 1912, the Dime Building was designed by famed architect Daniel Burnham, best known for developing the master plans for the development of both Chicago and Washington D.C.

Doodle Home, a Detroit-based virtual studio for interior designers, assisted in the interior design of The Professional Group’s new headquarters. Doodle Home is part of the Rock Ventures Family of Companies and is located in downtown Detroit’s M@dison building, just blocks from The Professional Group.
