TOLEDO — Hylant, one of the nation’s largest privately owned insurance brokerage firms, announced today the promotion of Kevin O’Donnell to global practice executive.

In his new role, O’Donnell will be responsible for the development, growth and vision of Hylant’s global practice. He will oversee Hylant’s international strategy and client service and play an integral part in the company’s Worldwide Broker Network, a fully integrated network of independent property and casualty and employee benefits brokers located in over 90 countries.

Based in the Troy office, O’Donnell will retain leadership of Hylant’s Property & Marine Practice Group.

“We have developed this role specifically to better serve our international clients,” said John Chaney, the company’s executive vice president. “As a global broker with local and regional expertise, we are continually elevating our client service at home and abroad.  With Kevin’s experience and knowledge of today’s international business markets, our clients will gain invaluable insights to both protect them against risk and provide support in their global growth.”

Prior to joining Hylant seven years ago, O’Donnell served as vice president of property at Palmer & Cay/Wachovia Insurance Services. He has been involved with the risk management of multinational accounts for almost fifteen years; including working in the Detroit and Chicago offices of Marsh.
