Tuskegee Airmen Honored at Detroit River Days

The Tuskegee Airmen, Detroit Chapter, were honored on June 22 by the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy. The 15 Airmen, known as the "Red Tails," were African-American fighter pilots that inflicted major damage during World War II. Photos by Patrick Gloria

Alice Cooper performed a VIP concert at the John Varvatos store in downtown Detroit on April 16. Detroit Tigers Opening Day 2015

The Detroit Tigers defeated the Minnesota Twins 4-0 on Opening Day. About 45,000 people attended the game on April 6, the fourth largest in Comerica Park's history. Detroit-native actor J.K. Simmons threw the ceremonial first pitch.

2015 Toast of Hockeytown

The Red Wings Foundation hosted its Toast of Hockeytown fundraiser on Feb. 2 at Joe Louis Arena in downtown Detroit. More than 700 guests enjoyed a strolling dinner, wine pairings, locker room tours, and the opportunity to meet with players, coaches, and local celebrities.

2015 East-West Business Connection

The Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce hosted a global business networking event comprised of Asian and U.S. businesses and minority business enterprises throughout the Midwest. The event focused on opportunities for minority-businesses, followed by a supplier exhibition, and the popular "Meet the Buyer" Showcase. Suppliers had an opportunity to meet one-on-one with corporate buyers from a variety of industries.
