NOVI — Marlee’s by Tapper’s opened its first retail store on Tuesday at Twelve Oaks Mall. Marlee’s is a new concept in jewelry and accessories, with a focus on creating an innovative shopping experience designed to enhance and celebrate a woman’s style.
In-store stylists and look books will assist customers in enhancing the canvas that already exists in their closet, demonstrating how to wear something new and integrate it with what they already own. Founders (and sisters-in-law) Marla Tapper Young and Leora Tapper describe Marlee’s (named for a combination of their two first names) as “a space where sisters, mothers and daughters or best friends will love to come to shop and browse.”
Marlee’s offers a selection of jewelry, handbags, hats, scarves, wraps, belts and other accessories, some with local roots, and other pieces discovered while Marla and Leora were traveling the world to find the select items for their new store. Close attention is paid to the quality and craftsmanship of every item sold at Marlee’s. “We want to make sure that everything we have available for sale is one that Marla or I would like to own personally,” Leora Tapper said.
Some of the designer brands represented at Marlee’s include: John Hardy, Judith Ripka, Alexis Bittar, Lois Hill, Michele Watches, Movado Bold, and the Michigan-based Marlaina Stone and Lisa Freede.
