Grand Display to Go Off in Downtown Detroit
1962

DETROIT — The 54th Annual Target Fireworks, one of the world’s largest and most magnificent fireworks displays created and produced by The Parade Company, will light up the sky on Monday, June 25 at 10:06 p.m. on the Detroit River in downtown Detroit.

This free, world-class event is a jewel to this area and brings hundreds of thousands of spectators from across the region to attend and experience one of Detroit’s most anticipated summer nights in the city.

“For 54 years, our fireworks have been an important part of our traditions here,” said Tony Michaels, president and CEO, The Parade Company. “Target is an outstanding, long-time corporate and community partner and [our sponsors’] continued support makes this [display] one of the largest in the country.”

The Company raises the funds that make this event possible and collaborated with the City of Detroit and Detroit Police Department to garner support from Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb Counties, and the State of Michigan.

The Parade Company brings in Zambelli Fireworks Internationale to feature more than 10,000 pyrotechnic effects visible for miles along the Detroit River. Once again, this year’s show will be choreographed by the world-renowned Patrick Brault, who has years of experience designing pyrotechnic displays including the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

Zambelli and Brault will mesmerize the thousands of spectators with a variety of classic and new techniques all staged to some of summertime’s greatest music, which has been arranged and selected by The Parade Company.

One of The Parade Company’s largest and most popular fundraisers of the year is the VIP Rooftop Party presented by Charter One, offering the best seats in the city to view the 54th Annual Target Fireworks. This year’s theme, chosen by The Parade Company, is “We Love Detroit”, where guests will get a taste of all the wonderful lifestyle activities and traditions that are a part of Detroit and Michigan such as summer, music, water, sports and art.

Due to an overwhelmingly positive response, this year’s VIP Rooftop Party is officially sold out.

The Target Fireworks can be viewed on WDIV-Local 4’s live broadcast beginning at 8 p.m. News/Talk 760 WJR will do a special radio simulcast throughout the event and provide up to the minute traffic and weather information throughout the day.
