Auburn Hills, Michigan, June 1, 2010 – In a new initiative designed to enhance benefit and reward packages of community businesses, Genisys Credit Union has partnered with Cleary University to offer tuition grants specifically designated for the employees and members of the credit union.

“Genisys Credit Union is very excited about our partnership with Cleary University,” said Jackie Buchanan, CEO of Genisys Credit Union. “We are pleased not only to be able to offer our members a tuition grant to one of the finest universities in Michigan, but to also continue strengthening our commitment to our employees and members by providing exclusive benefits and rewards.”

Genisys Credit Union employees and members will receive the same advantages current Cleary University students do: free books, no fees and a guaranteed tuition cost, ensuring that as long as a student stays enrolled in their program of choice, their tuition will never increase.

The tuition grant will be offered to any staff member or employee working directly for Genisys Credit Union as well as any Genisys Credit Union member who maintains an active checking account with debit rewards or an active loan with the credit union. The grant will cover 20 percent of net tuition costs for qualified, new students applying to a Cleary University for-credit undergraduate or graduate degree program. The grant will also apply to any Cleary University for-credit certificate or review program. The grant will be applied to tuition at the time of registration.

“Cleary University is pleased to have Genisys Credit Union as one of our Strategic Alliance Partners,” said Tom Sullivan, president of Cleary University. “Our relationship with the credit union began years ago when their recently retired CEO, Dianne Addington, completed her baccalaureate degree at the University, using her Professional Project at Cleary to help advance Genisys. After recommending that several of her key executives complete their degrees at Cleary, Dianne was eager to have Genisys further partner with the University. Their new CEO, Jackie Buchanan, sensing the potential value of an alliance, suggested a two-year exclusive partnership opportunity which would be extended to all employees and members of the credit union.”

“In addition to this partnership, Jackie Buchanan also informed the University that the Genisys Board of Directors will be funding an annual $2,000 scholarship at Cleary University for the next five years in recognition of outgoing CEO Addington’s contributions,” said Sullivan. “The University is delighted with this new expanded relationship with Genisys and incredibly pleased that their organization so actively confirmed the benefit of the Cleary University education.”
