Detroit-based architecture, interior design, and creative firm, Kraemer Design Group PLC (KDG) has announced the promotions of Amanda Kight, Martin Oliver, and Laura Shadik to project architects, following their successful completion of the architect licensure exam.

“Since day one, Amanda, Martin, and Laura have demonstrated a strong work ethic and commitment to improving as professionals,” says Bob Kraemer, KDG co-founder and principal. “We’re proud to see these three expand their knowledge in the industry by earning their architecture licenses. As project architects, they will take on larger, more challenging projects in need of innovative and creative solutions – something all three have exemplified in their contributions to our portfolio.”

Kight has been at KDG since 2014, bringing experience in multifamily and senior living projects. In 2013, she received a Master of Architecture degree from Lawrence Technological University and has worked on multiple historic projects while at KDG, including The Albert – Capitol Park, Capitol Park Lofts, 207 E. Baltimore, and 1413 Woodward. She is currently working on 1400 Woodward.

Originally from New Orleans, Oliver received his Master of Architecture degree from Louisiana State University in 2013. He has gained more than three years of residential, industrial, and commercial architecture experience since moving to Detroit and is interested in multifamily residential design, as well as the rehabilitation of historic buildings. Recently, Oliver has worked on the David Stott Building and the Farwell Building, which are both still in progress, in addition to several Homewood Suites facilities across the country, and Aloft South Bend.

Shadik, while working toward her Master of Architecture degree at the University of Detroit Mercy, studied abroad in Volterra, Italy, where she explored the historic architecture and gathered ideas for future projects. She joined KDG in 2017, brining experience in projects involving health care, senior living, multifamily residential, and commercial developments.
