Great Expressions Dental Centers

Great Expressions Dental Centers (GEDC) has announced Dan Hirschfeld as CEO. GEDC was founded in 1982 and operates as a single brand providing comprehensive dental services. It has a network of over 300 affiliated practices that are staffed by more than 900 dentists and hygienists, who have more than 1 million visits per year.

“I am truly excited to join the leading brand in the dental industry,” says Dan Hirschfeld.  “Day in and day out, Great Expressions delivers outstanding patient care, one smile at a time.  I could not be prouder to join this dedicated, committed, and passionate team.  Without all of them, our success would not be possible. I look forward to continuing its commitment to operational excellence and patient experience, and bringing a GEDC smile to even more happy faces.”

Hirschfeld, who has been president and CEO of three different companies, brings more than 30 years of experience in health care services. Before joining GEDC, he was president of Genesis Rehabilitation Services and International Operations and executive vice president/COO for Genesis Healthcare Inc., a $6 billion publically-traded healthcare services company focused on rehabilitation, long-term care, and assisted living. While at Genesis, the company increased from 400 locations to 1,700 locations.

“Attracting someone with Dan’s experience, talent, and vision positions GEDC to accelerate its growth at a dynamic time in the dental industry,” says Tim Armstrong, managing director of Roark Capital Group, whose affiliates own a majority of GEDC. “We are excited to welcome Dan and look forward to him guiding the company in its continued success as one of the premier dental support organizations in the country.”

GEDC have worked in preventative dental care, orthodontics, and specialty care for nearly 40 years. It has offices in Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, and Virginia. GEDC branded practices are independently owned and operated in specific states by licensed dentists and their professional entities who employ the licensed professionals providing dental treatment and services.
