Foley & Lardner Names New Detroit OMP, Business Law Chair

Detroit-based law firm Foley & Lardner has announced the appointment of Philip B. Philips as managing partner and Daljit Doogal as chair of the firm’s business law department.

Philips is a member of the labor and employment practice and the automotive industry team. He also serves as the professional responsibility partner and litigation department chair for Foley & Lardner.

In 1996, Phillips obtained his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law. He also earned a master’s degree in public administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University in 1996. Philips received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Emory University in 1989.                                                                                         

Doogal is a partner and member of the transactional and securities, private equity and venture, capital and international practices, and the automotive industry team. He will succeed Jack Lasater as chair of the business law department. Doogal has also served as office managing partner for the firm since 2011.

Doogal received his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Michigan and is a cum laude graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School.
