OCC Dean Receives Community College Leadership Award

Oakland Community College Libraries Dean of Learning Resources Mary Ann Sheble has received the 2015 Community and Junior College Libraries Section Community College Learning Resources Leadership Award.

The award cites Sheble’s involvement in library leadership in local, state, regional, and national organizations as well as in international library efforts and her campus leadership in two interim dean positions in addition to her library duties.

Sheble will receive the recognition, accompanied by a plaque and $750 award, on June 26, at the American Library Association Annual Conference in San Francisco. Sheble is former chair of CJCLS.

Sheble received her Bachelor of Arts in sociology from the University of Minnesota, her Master in Science in sociology at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and her Master of Library Science from the University of Alabama School of Library and Information Studies.
