NOVI — Reality show stars, food, fashion and fun for moms, sisters, daughters, and girlfriends at the 12th annual Michigan International Women’s Show, April 30 – May 3, at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi.

“There is lots to see and do from enjoying a makeover or a cooking demonstration to shopping for fashion and gifts,” says Beth Anderson, executive show manager of Southern Shows. “Our three stages are entertaining and encouraging with appearances from Randy Fenoli of Say Yes to the Dress, celebrity stylist Michael O’Rourke and Ashley Gold of Hardcore Pawn.”

Randy Fenoli, from TLC’s reality series Say Yes to the Dress, will share his passion for design and fashion along with stories of brides searching for the perfect wedding dress and their struggles to overcome personal difficulties, weight and body image and staying within budget. 

Celebrity stylist and creator of Rock Your Hair professional styling products, Michael O’Rourke, will be demonstrating, advising and explaining his proprietary cutting system “Angles in Motion,” with complimentary haircuts by Rock Your Hair stylists.

Taste of Home Cooking School will show how to make seasonal recipes for holiday, special occasions and various skill levels using readily available ingredients.

Ashley Gold of Hardcore Pawn and American Jewelry and Loan will share the trends in jewelry and fashion along with backstage stories. Professional matchmaker and relationship coach Julie Wadley will explain how to bring love to life and dispense advice about love, relationships and commitment.

Aussie in the Kitchen Chef Paul Penney, chef instructors and organizations will prepare recipes and provide cooking tips on the Stonebridge Kitchen & Bath Cooking Theater. United Dairy Industry of Michigan registered dietitians will explain pairing of cheese with wine and beer.  Partha Nandi, M.D., and his wife, Kali, will present quick and healthy meals that treat food as medicine by incorporating ingredients to boost immune systems as seen on his medical lifestyle television talk show Ask Dr. Nandi.

Kroger Pavilion will feature ice cream tastings, cooking demonstrations and blood pressure screenings.

Spring makeup trends and helpful cosmetic tips will be part of the makeovers offered by Macy’s beauty experts along with an array of new spring scents.

“Find a new look, discover the latest fashion trends or just celebrate our twentieth annual show with sweets, surprises and gifts,” Anderson says. Mini-cupcakes will be given to the first 100 show attendees, 20 presents will be hidden in the show, $20 in show bucks good at exhibitor displays will be given away every 20 minutes and everyone born in 1995 will receive a complimentary ticket.

Other features include Anniversary Hunt with gifts hidden throughout the show each day; special gifts to the first 100 show attendees each day; Pink Friday, instead of Black Friday, with specials from vendors exhibiting pink balloons; Friday’s Girls Night Out with Macy’s goodie bags and discounts for the first 100 attendees entering after 5 p.m.; Sunday’s Mother & Daughters Day sponsored by United Dairy Industry of Michigan with an apron given to the first 500 show attendees and more than 400 exhibitors displaying cosmetics, fragrances, lingerie, purses, shoes, gifts, décor items, food, arts and crafts, clothing, fashion and accessories.

The Michigan International Women’s Show is presented by The Detroit News and sponsored by Kroger and United Dairy Industry of Michigan. Suburban Collection Showplace is located at 46100 Grand River Avenue between Novi and Beck Road in Novi. Show hours are 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday; 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Saturday; and 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $10; youth 6 – 12 are $5 and children 5 and under are admitted free with a paying adult. Online advance tickets are $8 online. Discount tickets are available at Kroger for $7.
