WARREN — Students graduating from high school have until May 16  to apply for one of many Metro Detroit Youth Day scholarships to be awarded at the 32nd annual Youth Day event on Belle Isle on July 9.

Applicants can download the application and submission instructions at metrodetroityouthday.com/forms.

“Each year, we hope to recognize exceptional students who are graduating and accepted into a two or four-year college or university,” said Ed Deeb, co-founder and chairman of Metro Detroit Youth Day; and founder of the Michigan Food and Beverage Association. “Our goal is to help ease the burden for those who’ve already overcome adversity to graduate from high school and to remind metro Detroit’s youth that the business community supports them.”

Additionally, students are connected with the MDYD Prize Coalition which provides resource opportunities to every deserving and willing young person who desires a higher educational experience.

Each year, MDYD awards more than $35,000 in scholarships to deserving students who submitted an application and essay to be considered. MDYD received 160 submissions last year, which was a record amount.
