SOUTHFIELD, Mich. — As Michigan’s economic landscape continues to fluctuate, so is the necessity to change business strategies to accommodate the upswing/downswing trends. Michael A. Finney, President & CEO of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) will outline to attendees of the DTE Energy and Engineering Society of Detroit (ESD) Energy Conference, his views of what the economic development changes will mean locally and regionally to Michigan.
With more than 800 people slated to attend, the conference is hailed as the largest of its kind in Michigan. It will take place on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
In addition to Finney’s presentation, the conference will feature three educational track sessions dealing with Energy Saving Strategies; Innovation and Energy Education. All these tracks will be presented by experts in the fields of energy efficiency, green energy, and small business development, as well as building owners, contractors, and architects.
While the morning portion of the conference will be dedicated mainly to the educational tracks and exhibits, the afternoon will feature an awards program for successful energy saving initiatives; a luncheon keynote presentation, as well as a workshop strategy sessions, whereby attendees will get the chance to talk one-on-one with this year’s track presenters, getting answers to their most pressing questions.
Cost to attend the conference is $65 for ESD members; $85 for non-members or join ESD for $139 and attend for free.
