New Enterprise Forum Panelists to Discuss Dynamics of Relationships Between Entrepreneurs and Angel Investors

ANN ARBOR, Mich., March 11, 2009 – New Enterprise Forum will host “Understanding the Investor/Investee Relationship – The Angel Stage,” a panel discussion that will illuminate the relationships and responsibilities that are formed between entrepreneurs and their angel investors. The event takes place at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, at the Holiday Inn North Campus, 3600 Plymouth Road in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The participants for this event include:

Jennifer Baird – Co-Founder & CEO of Accuri Cytometers, Inc. and Sonetics Ultrasound, Inc.: Jennifer has a wide range of experience in strategic management, business development, sales and marketing, and operations and process improvement. She has expertise in building and leading successful cross-disciplinary teams in a number of technology-based industries. Previously, she was a VP at medical device company Integrated Sensing Systems, Inc. Before that, she was a VP at Keane Consulting Group, a leading provider of strategy and operations improvement consulting services, where she helped grow the company as it quintupled in size.

Walter Young – Angel Investor with White Pines Ventures, LLC: Walt has almost four decades of experience in general management positions for large companies in a variety of industries. He has completed 23 turnarounds, conducted 75 acquisitions and divestitures, and is a national leader in corporate governance. He is on the boards of NRG Energy, Inc. and Sinto America, Inc., the Board of Trustees of Muskingum College, and the board of Gleaners Southwest Michigan Food Bank. In recent years, he has assisted small private companies in startups, buyouts, and turnarounds.

Showcase Presentation: Each month, NEF highlights an emerging company and provides them a Showcase Presentation. This month, our Showcase Presenter will be Jon Baugh of Dermanaut, which is bringing to market the first friendly electronic medical record (EMR) application with a visual workflow for use in dermatology.

Open Forum: The evening’s presentations are followed by Open Forum, during which attendees have the opportunity to make a 30-second pitch for their company, product/service, or need.
