TROY, Mich., April 27, 2009 – The U.S. Army Reserve and Kelly Services, Inc., a world leader in workforce management services and human resources solutions, announced the launch of a public-private partnership that will enhance job opportunities for U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers and Veterans. This joint venture, launched under the Army Reserve Employer Partnership Initiative (EPI), will provide both organizations the ability to recruit and employ individuals in serving the Nation and pursuing careers in a variety of fields.

“I’m pleased to start a productive partnership with Kelly Services,” said Lt. Gen. Jack C. Stultz, Chief, Army Reserve, and Commanding General, U.S. Army Reserve Command. “This company has provided countless job opportunities for individuals spanning the world, and our Soldiers and Veterans no doubt will have many career options with Kelly Services.  I look forward to collaborating with an industry leader in workplace management and human resources solutions.  This current economic climate demands creativity and flexibility, and I believe Kelly Services has the expertise to advance the kind of mutually beneficial changes that are necessary to strengthen our Nation’s competitiveness.”

Through the Employer Partnership Initiative, the Army Reserve has partnered with companies and organizations all over the country to develop employment solutions for America’s industry demands, to help solve the issue of workforce preparedness and reinforce the human talent of America in order to continue to compete in the global economy.

“It is with privilege we partner with the Army Reserve in an effort to align our returning heroes with potential job opportunities throughout a multitude of industries, “ said Jim Hoen, vice president and division manager, Kelly Government Solutions. “Kelly’s breadth of exposure to industry markets offer Army Reserve Soldiers unique access to a wide variety of career opportunities.  In addition, this partnership provides a sense of ease and stability to return to the civilian workforce, for the men and women who have given so much to their country.”

The EPI establishes a process whereby employers and the Army Reserve secure and share the talents of trained professionals. Partners, like Kelly Services, will benefit from the employment of men and women with Army values, knowledge and proven leadership skills.

Launched in April 2008, the Employer Partner Initiative has joined forces with roughly 300 public and private employers, including Fortune 500 corporations, state agencies, police departments and medical facilities, in order to secure job stability for America’s Soldiers and Veterans.
