Jaffe Raitt Heuer and Weiss PC in Southfield Adds Partner

Southfield’s Jaffe Raitt Heuer and Weiss PC, a business law firm, has hired Patrick M. Burnett as a partner in the firm’s electronic payments practice group.

Burnett expands Jaffe’s payments group practice expertise to include anti-money laundering, money transmitter, prepaid debit and payroll card, and card issuing issues. He has in-house counsel experience with two of the largest card payment acquirers, one of the largest MasterCard issuers, a money transmitter. He has also worked with state, federal, and card brand regulatory compliance and on negotiating and drafting ISO and bank sponsorship agreements. Burnett is a frequent presenter at industry conferences on payment legal issues.

Previously, Burnett served in various roles including vice president and senior counsel at Comdata Inc. He also served as vice president and counsel at Fifth Third Processing Solutions and as contract manager at National Processing Co. LLC.

Burnett earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Louisville College of Business and Public Administration, and an undergraduate degree from the University of Louisville.
