Simon Group Holdings Appoints Two Leadership Positions

Birmingham-based Simon Group Holdings (SGH) today announced the appointment of two company leaders: Chris Mattina, the company’s former CFO, is promoted to executive vice president, and Maura Hynes, former director of reporting for Rock Ventures and Rockbridge Growth Equity, will fill take over as CFO and chief of staff.

As executive vice president, Mattina will oversee the finance, operations, and digital marketing teams, as well as support SGH’s founder and chairman Sam Simon with strategic growth.

“At his core, Chris is entrepreneur, from founding a 14-partner investment company while he was in college, to launching a 3-D scanning start up,” says Simon. “Recently, as CFO, he was a key member of that team that led to recent acquisitions. I’m delighted to trust Chris with greater responsibility as we continue to grow Simon Group Holdings.”

Mattina also has experience outside of his own entrepreneurial realm. According to Simon, his position as manager of strategic initiatives at Atlas Oil “provided an opportunity for [Mattina] to determine how we could both grow and reinvent our business units.”

Hynes’ role will be to provide strategic counsel to SGH’s platform companies and partners. Simon adds that her prior experience working with a diverse group of companies will make her a perfect fit at SGH.

“[Hynes] has extensive financial review experience from start-ups to mid-sized companies. She’s held key roles at various companies throughout her career, including as a founding member of an asset based lender, which as given her insight into the factors that advance a company’s vision,” adds Simon. “I’m confident she will be a contributing factor in our continued growth.”
