Bloomfield Township-based Pine Lake Country Club (PLCC) today announced the appointment of Greg Colombo as general manager and chief operating officer.

Colombo will replace Jamal “Jim” Farhat who served the club for 28 years. As a certified club manager, Colombo joined PLCC May 15 after receiving unanimous approval for candidacy vote by PLCC’s board of directors.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Greg as part of our leadership team,” says Kevin Heinl, president of the PLCC board of directors. “His experience and expertise will allow the club to continue building on its past successes, and to look forward to a very bright future for our members and their families.”

Colombo has experience in working in private clubs and luxury hotels. Most recently, he served four years as general manager of Cattail Creek Country Club in Glenwood, MD. He also previously held an executive position at Plainfield Country Club in Edison, NJ and the Ritz Carlton in Philadelphia.

“This was a tremendous opportunity for me to come home to Michigan,” says Colombo. “It’s not an understatement to say that Pine Lake is an amazing private club, and I’m honored the board of directors has placed its trust in me to guide their club into the future.”

Colombo, an Eastpointe native, graduated from Oakland University in 1992. In his position at PLCC, he will be responsible for managing all aspects of club activities and ensuring member and guest satisfaction. He will also oversee over 100 in-season employee, annual budgets, and the club’s many services. Colombo is also tasked with making proactive changes to enhance guest experience and ensure thriving membership rates.
