Lambert, Edwards & Associates (LE&A), a public relations, public affairs, and investor relations firm with offices in Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Lansing, today announced that Brent Snavely has been hired as director. Snavely will work closely with the firm’s investor relations and manufacturing and mobility clients, in addition to providing strategic counsel firm-wide. Snavely will also expand the firm’s presence in Detroit and their national financial communications practice offerings.

“At LE&A, Brent brings extensive experience in the automotive business industries he’s covered nationally and internationally for nearly two decades,” says Jeffrey Lambert, CEO of LE&A. “The addition of Brent continues our commitment to Detroit and expands our resources in the region. We are excited to offer Brent’s expertise to our clients.”

Snavely brings more than 20 years of experience to the firm with a background in business, financial, and automotive journalism. Most recently, he served as the lead automotive writer at the Detroit Free Press where he covered Ford Co. and General Motors Co. while also serving as auto team leader. Additionally, he led the award-winning coverage of the United Auto Worker’s contract negotiations in 2011. In 2015, he served on a team that covered Detroit’s bankruptcy and closely chronicled the transformation of Chrysler from a bankrupt American automaker into Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. He also served as an editor of two national automotive reporting projects for the USA Today Network and co-managed automotive coverage for the Detroit Free Press and USA Today. Prior to the Detroit Free Press, Snavely worked for Crain’s Detroit Business, covering automotive supplier, retail, and restaurant industries.

“Transitioning to PR from journalism after 24 years in the industry, and leaving the state’s largest daily newspaper, was an extremely difficult decision,” says Snavely. “However, I am joining a company that understands the evolving nature of public relations and integrated marketing, and recognizes that the need for effective storytelling is more important now than ever. LE&A is a growing, vibrant Midwest public relations firm with a bright future, and I look forward to contributing my skills as the company continues to grow.”

Snavely received his bachelor’s degree in political science from Wittenberg University.
