Joe Stephens named CEO of Motor City Industrial

The board of directors of Motor City Industrial, a wholesale industrial supplier based in Hazel Park, today announced Joe Stephens as chief executive officer, where he will be responsible for overseeing business operations and expanding the company’s footprint through acquisitions expansion.

Stephens, who led Motor City Industrial’s acquisition of EMCO, was a key player in adding two Oakland county distribution facilities.

“As we continue to execute our aggressive growth strategy, Joe’s 25 years of industry experience will be instrumental in driving the overall success of Motor City Industrial,” says Bryan Tolles, Motor City Industrial board member. “Joe has a keen understanding of the

distribution industry and supply chain process, which he will leverage to make customers’ operations more efficient through Motor City Industrial’s smart inventory management systems, wide range of premium products, and technology solutions.”

Before joining Motor City Industrial, Stephens was an operating partner at Oakland Standard Co. He also has leadership experience with Fastenal, where he served as regional vice president.

Stephens attended the University of Kansas, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
