The Michigan Society of Association Executives (MSAE) today announced at their annual OrgPro conference in Port Huron that Ara Topouzian, president and CEO of Troy Chamber of Commerce, was elected for a three-year term to the board of directors.

Topouzian, who has served as Troy Chamber of Commerce’s president and CEO since 2013, has experience in economic development, and is currently pursuing a Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation, a program designed to identify professionals with excellent association management skills.

“MSAE is honored to be able to secure thought leaders to our board,” says Cheryl Ronk, president for MSAE. “These board members make sure that MSAE, the association for the association management profession is the key resource to advance the professionalism and knowledge, and share successes of the sector. Ara has the prospective that the industry respects.”

Topouzian is a graudate of Wayne State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism.

“I am honored to have been chosen to serve on the MSAE Board and looking forward to giving back to an organization that has been a great professional asset in my life,” says Topouzian.

MSAE is an information resource and professional network for more than 700 executives in Michigan.
