United Shore Names New Chief Operating Officer

Troy-based United Shore, an independent mortgage lender, has promoted Melinda Wilner to the newly created role of chief operating officer. Previously, Wilner served as executive vice president of underwriting for the company.

As COO, Wilner will lead all operations and oversee more than 500 employees in the company’s underwriting, closing, and technology departments. She also will focus on streamlining operations of the company’s wholesale arm, United Wholesale Mortgage. Wilner also worked at the Bank of Ann Arbor in underwriting and operating a retail origination branch.

Wilner, of Birmingham, earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics with minor in business administration from Vanderbilt University.
