Plante Moran, a certified public accounting and business advisory firms, has announced 10 new partners in three of its southeast Michigan offices.
Anthony J. Belloli is based in the firm’s Southfield office. Belloli, of Oakland Township, specializes in the administration of irrevocable trusts, estates and family offices. He holds a bachelor’s from Oakland University and a master’s in business administration from Wayne State University.
Phillip Clay Brown, based in the firm’s Southfield office, is the practice leader for the medical device management consulting practice. Brown, of Bloomfiled Hills, joined Plane Moran in 2010. He holds a bachelor’s from Texas A&M University and a master’s from Webster University.
Dan Hawn joined Plante Moran in 1999 and is based in the firm’s Southfield office. Hawn, of Northville, serves in the Forensic and Valuation Services Group, where he specializes in the valuation of closely-held debt and equity securities and intangible assets for a variety of purposes. He holds a bachelor’s from Michigan State University.
Todd McClain is a relationship manager in the firm’s Wealth Management practice and serves high net worth individuals and families as their chief financial officer. McClain, of Troy, is based in the firm’s Detroit office. He holds a bachelor’s from Michigan State University and a master’s from Walsh College. He then joined Plante Moran in 2002.
Chad Schafer specializes in providing health systems and healthcare organizations with assurance and consulting services from the firm’s Southfield office. Schafer, who joined Plante Moran in 2000, currently resides in Williamston. He holds a bachelor’s from Central Michigan University.
Robert Shefferly III, who joined Plante Moran in 2004, is based in the firm’s Macomb office. He serves in a tax leadership capacity as a member of the firm’s National Tax Office where he specializes in assisting private equity funds, portfolio companies, and owner-operated, privately held corporations and partnerships. Shefferly focuses on numerous tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions of stock and assets, including reorganizations, acquisition and disposition planning, tax modeling and restructuring. Shefferly, of Dryden, holds a bachelor’s from Davenport University and a master’s from Walsh College.
Carla M. Smaston, who is based in the firm’s Southfield office, is an international tax specialist for businesses and individuals. Smaston, of Northville, holds a bachelor’s from the University of Michigan.
Mark Sutton is based in the firm’s Auburn Hills office. He is a leader within the firm’s real estate and construction tax practice and is the director of tax education for the firm. Sutton, of Oxford, specializes in complex partnership transactions, REIT taxation, and sale and exchanges involving real estate. Sutton, who joined Plante Moran in 2005, holds a bachelor’s and a master’s from Walsh College.
Lisa Vargo, who joined Plante Moran in 1994, is based in the firm’s Auburn Hills office. Vargo, of Shelby Township, is an assurance partner with the Housing and Community Development team where she specializes in assisting for-profit, not-for-profit, and governmental entities. She holds a bachelor’s from Wayne State University.
Michelle Watterworth, who holds a bachelor’s from the University of Michigan, is based in the firm’s Southfield office. She joined Plante Moran in 1991. Watterworth, of Orion Township, is head of Plante Moran’s governmental standards practice, where she oversees all technical aspects of the firm’s governmental practice including emerging governmental accounting and auditing issues.
