'Looking For Alaska' Opens Casting Call for Extras

Looking for Alaska, a film based on the novel by John Green and directed by Rebecca Thomas, is shooting in the Detroit area this fall and is looking for extras. 

Ryan Hill Casting, a Detroit-based casting agency for films and commercials, will be conducting the call at Costick Activity Center, 28600 Eleven Mile Rd., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

They are looking for women and men of all ethnicities from ages 18 to 22. Men must be clean-shaven, and should be prepared to perform basketball drills if they want to be considered for basketball playing scenes. 

Additionally, owners of late 1980s, early 1990s automobiles who are interested in renting vehicles to the film production may bring color photos of their vehicles with contact information.

All candidates must bring a valid photo ID, and will be required to take a picture and provide relevant information. Candidates who are unable to attend the open call may email a professional photo, name, and contact information to RyanHillCasting@gmail.com with “LFA Extras” or “LFA Vehicles” in the subject line.
