Detroit Trading Co. Names New General Counsel

Matthew Clayson has been named vice president, general counsel, business development and governmental affairs for the Detroit Trading Co.

Previously, Clayson, of Detroit, was executive director of the Detroit Creative Corridor Center, an economic development organization with the purpose of growing creative economy jobs and revenues in the city of Detroit. He is a founding member of the Michigan Design Council, an initiative to grow Michigan’s industrial design economy launched this year with the State of Michigan Automotive Industry Conference, and serves on the boards of the Urban Manufacturing Alliance and Creative Many Michigan. 

He was formerly a promotion manager and promotion marketing attorney with Pleasant Ridge based HelloWorld.

Clayson, of Detroit, earned his Bachelor of Arts in international relations, and political theory from Michigan State University and his juris doctor from Wayne State University Law School.
