Detroit Country Day School Appoints New Board Members

Detroit Country Day School, an independent college preparatory school has announced entrepreneur Ed Cherney has rejoined its board of trustees, and global industrial leader Don Stebbins has been named the board’s chairman. 

Cherney, left, of Bloomfield Hills, previously served on the school’s board from 1981-1986 and 1987-2013. He is a a graduate of the University of Detroit, and his previous experience includes executive roles at companies such as CMI Corporation, ENCORE, AT&T Systems Leasing and TIP Capital, and serving as chairman of the Computer Dealers and Lessors Association, a member of the Equipment Leasing Association board, and trustee emeritus of the University of Detroit-Mercy.   

First elected to the the school’s Board of Trustees in 2006, Stebbins, of Bloomfield Hills, has held a variety of leadership roles and is the president and CEO of Superior Industries International, Inc. He earned his bachelor’s in finance from Miami University in Ohio and his MBA from the University of Michigan.
