Telemus Capital Names New Chief Operating Officer

SOUTHFIELD — Telemus Capital, a leading independent advisory firm, has named Lloyd A. Perlmutter chief operating officer.

A retail industry veteran who served for seven years as president of Gap Inc. (Canada), Perlmutter joins Telemus in a newly-created COO role, and was recruited specifically for his extensive customer service background. He is responsible for overseeing Telemus Capital’s client experience standards, as well as the firm’s day-to-day management and execution of its strategic and growth initiatives.

Perlmutter, who is moving to moving to Bloomfield Hills,  joins Telemus, with offices in Southfield and Ann Arbor, and Los Angeles, from his previous role as president and managing partner of The Beacon Group, a Canadian-based professional services firm. Prior to that, he served as CEO of fashion and apparel company, Mexx Canada. Early in his career, Perlmutter started his own retail firm called Beaver Canoe.

 A graduate of Harvard University, Perlmutter serves as a board member for The York School, an International Baccalaureate, co-ed private high school in Toronto. Formerly, he served on the board of advisors for Ryerson University School of Retail Management in Canada.
