Automation Alley Opens Office in Downtown Detroit

1805

TROY— Automation Alley, Michigan’s largest technology business association, has opened an office inside the new Grand Circus training institute in the historic Broderick Tower in Detroit.

The new location, at 1570 Woodward Ave., was chosen both for its proximity to the emerging tech community in Detroit and for the opportunity to collaborate with Grand Circus and its clients. With its mission of elevating the tech community, Grand Circus is a natural fit for partnership with Automation Alley, whose mission is to grow the innovation cluster of Southeast Michigan.

“Our Detroit office is evidence of Automation Alley’s commitment to the city and support of the growing tech community downtown,” said Executive Director Ken Rogers. “Grand Circus is an exciting addition to that ecosystem, and they have already proven to be a valuable partner in our efforts to connect local businesses with the resources to properly train a high-tech workforce.”

Automation Alley has worked with businesses, government entities and educational institutions in Detroit since the organization’s inception in 1999. In recent years, Automation Alley has invested in several Detroit-based high-tech startup companies and anticipates making additional investments in the future.

The Detroit office will allow Automation Alley to strengthen its existing partnerships with other Detroit-based organizations such as TechTown, the Detroit Economic Growth Corp., the Detroit Regional Chamber and NextEnergy, as well as Wayne County government. The office is one of four Automation Alley offices in the metro Detroit area, including the headquarters in Troy and two Macomb County offices.
