DYC Hosts Fundraiser for Gold Cup Races

The Detroit Yacht Club and the Detroit River Regatta Association hosted a fundraising dinner on April 27 at the DYC. The event raised more than $80,000 to support the APBA Detroit Gold Cup Races, scheduled for July 13-15 on the Detroit River. Photos by Patrick Gloria

Foundation Hotel Opening Party

On May 13, the Detroit Foundation Hotel held a Grand Opening Party for more than 600 guests. The hotel, located at 250 W. Larned St., was the former headquarters for the Detroit Fire Department. Since renovated, the hotel offers 100 rooms, the Apparatus Room restaurant, meeting space, and numerous amenities.

Gems of Detroit 2017

ULI Lifetime Achievement Award Dinner

On Thursday, May 18, more than 400 guests attended a dinner at the Westin Book Cadillac in Detroit, where the Urban Land Institute presented a lifetime achievement award to John Rakolta Jr., chairman and CEO of Walbridge, a building design and construction consulting company.

DYC Gala 2017

The Detroit Yacht Club Foundation hosted its Fifth Anniversary Fundraising Gala at the club's grand ballroom on Belle Isle on Friday, May 19. More than 400 guests enjoyed cocktail party, a strolling dinner, live and silent auctions, and musical entertainment.

Walsh College's Spring Soiree

More than 300 Walsh College alumni and guests attended the inaugural Spring Soiree at the Royal Oak Farmer's Market on Friday, May 5. Guests enjoyed food trucks, local craft beer, and wine tastings, raising more than $95,000 for the Walsh College Scholarship Fund.
