Belle Isle Conservancy Hosts Pathways to the Garden Party

1962

DETROIT — On Tuesday, September 11, 2012 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., the Belle Isle Conservancy will host its Pathways to the Garden Party 2012 at the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory on Belle Isle. The party will help to provide further funding for the restoration of the flagstone paths at the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory garden.

Over 300 guests will gather “under the tent” and on the patio at the Conservatory where they are invited to enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. They will also have an opportunity to tour the Conservatory and explore the beautiful gardens.

Representatives from the Marshall Frederick Sculpture Museum in Bay City will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Leaping Gazelle sculpture; an information table displaying a miniature Leaping Gazelle sculpture will be set up in the Conservatory’s Show House.

“We are so happy to have the Belle Isle Conservancy and the consortium of twenty east side garden clubs working together to help renovate the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory’s landscaping.  This year’s project continues the restoration of the flagstone paths in the gardens.  This is our sixth year for this fall fundraiser and we look forward to a long and productive partnership,” said Event Chair Janice Ellison.
