DETROIT, Sept. 16, 2010 — Wayne State University and TechTown, WSU’s business incubator, will host the sixth annual E2 Detroit conference on Wednesday, Oct. 13. This event brings entrepreneurs together with business leaders, authors, investors and others for a program that both educates and inspires.

With today’s economic climate of limited resources and investors on the sidelines, entrepreneurs need to be creative to stretch the resources they have and develop ways to launch their businesses with little or no capital. E2 Detroit 2010, “The Lean Launch: Creating a Business in a Down Economy,” will feature discussions such as “How to Market and Advertise in a Lean Launch” and “How to Launch Your Business ‘On a Dime’ Without Sacrificing Image, Quality or Opportunities,” that will give attendees the tips and practical advice that every entrepreneur should know for today’s economy.

E2 Detroit’s opening keynote speaker is Josh Linkner, founder and chairman of ePrize, which develops and manages interactive promotions for 74 of the top 100 brands, author of Leaning Forward, musician and successful four-time entrepreneur. Linkner is known for powerful and practical techniques that push all levels of the business world to spark creative energies. His highly anticipated second book, Disciplined Dreaming: A Proven System for Breakthrough Creativity, due out in February 2011, aims to transform organizations and others into a nonstop creativity juggernaut.

“Many people have no idea how to utilize creativity and innovation for starting or leading a company through difficult economic times,” said Judy Johncox, associate vice president for Research and Technology Commercialization at Wayne State University. “Josh will share best practices on building a business culture that creatively inspires a company to grow when growth seems impossible.”

“Through E2 Detroit, Wayne State and TechTown are giving new life to the Michigan economy by inspiring idea generators to explore entrepreneurial opportunities,” said Johncox. “This growing entrepreneurial spirit on WSU’s campus is advancing innovation and creativity, which are so essential to Michigan’s future.”
