Southwest Detroit's Cristo Rey High School held a garden party at a private residence in Bloomfield Hills on July 18. The event helped raise funds and awareness for Cristo Rey, which provides a Catholic, co-ed college preparatory education to under served students. Photos by Nick Martines

An Evening of Art + Science 2016

The University of Michigan's Taubman Institute hosted "An Evening of Art + Science" on April 21 at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD) to raise funds for its Emerging Scholars grants. FUEL: Detroit, a one-day leadership conference, brought together business leaders such as Martha Stewart; Capt. Mark Kelly, astronaut and husband to former U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords; and Jacques Panis, president of Shinola, on April 21 at the Sound Board inside the MotorCity Casino Hotel.

27th Annual Bow Wow Brunch

The Michigan Humane Society hosted the 27th annual Bow Wow Brunch at the MGM Grand Detroit Hotel on April 17. Guests enjoyed a champagne reception, brunch, and live and silent auctions. Proceeds from the event assist the non-profit in finding homes for animals in need.

39th Annual Celebrity Chefs Dinner

Community Living Centers held its 39th annual celebrity chefs dinner at the Detroit Athletic Club on April 15. Fifteen metro Detroit chefs prepared a five-course meal while guests enjoyed entertainment, a silent auction, and a raffle. Community Living Centers serves metro Detroit adults and children with developmental disabilities and their families.
