Madison Heights’ Greater Detroit Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) today announced the election of board officers and board directors for 2019.
The AFP is a membership resource representing metro Detroit’s fundraising and nonprofit professionals. It works to promote philanthropy and volunteerism.
Board officers include:
- Diane Gulyas, president and director of development at the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters at the University of Michigan-Dearborn;
- Tricia Brosnahan, immediate past president and senior major gifts officer at the Beaumont Health Foundation;
- Steve Ragan, president-elect and senior vice president for development and external relations at Southwest Solutions;
- Sommer Brock, vice president and director of development at Cranbrook Schools Horizons-Upward Bound;
- Bobie Clement, vice president and consulting analyst at Richner and Richner;
- Melissa Weisse, secretary and chief philanthropy officer at Leader Dogs for the Blind; and
- Leslie Carmona, treasurer and director of donor relations at Wayne State University.
The board of directors includes:

- Ashley Calhoun of Inside Out Literacy Arts Project,
- Marah Casey of Teach for America-Detroit,
- Ryan Daly of the Beaumont Health Foundation,

- John Hebert of Leader Dogs for the Blind,

- Nina Holden of the Detroit Institute of Arts,

The AFP Greater Detroit Chapter held its National Philanthropy Day Dinner in November, honoring individuals, companies, and organizations for their charitable and volunteer efforts. Nearly 700 people attended, and proceeds benefited the association’s regional education, scholarship, and diversity programs.
