Butzel Long Attorney Appointed to Michigan Asian Pacific American Affairs Commission

Reginald A. Pacis, an immigration law attorney for Detroit’s Butzel Long, was appointed in late December by former Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder commissioner to the Michigan Asian Pacific American Affairs Commission. His term runs through November 2022.

The commission, which consists of 12 appointees, helps address the concerns of the Asian Pacific American communities in Michigan.

Pacis has handled a variety of immigration matters including labor certification, immigrant visa petitions and adjustment of status applications and interviews, and U.S. port of entry airport and land port interviews.

He is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and the Samahang Pilipino Ng Oakland Filipino organization. He served as chairperson of the Michigan Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and was a member of the organization’s national board of governors.

After earning an undergraduate degree from Michigan State University, Pacis completed his juris doctorate at the Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University. He joined the State Bar of Michigan in 1997.
