Melanie Barrett Joins Level One Bank as  Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer

Farmington Hills-based Level One Bank has announced the selection of Melanie Barrett as executive vice president and chief human resources officer. Serving as a member of the executive leadership team, Barrett will lead the human resources department with a focus on strategic organizational planning including talent acquisition, training and development, workforce planning, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and more. 

“Lani brings an abundance of human resources leadership experience,” says Patrick J. Fehring, president and CEO of Level One Bank. “We look forward to Lani’s contributions in helping guide our organization forward as we remain committed to attracting, developing and retaining top talent to support the needs of our growing Bank.”

Before coming to Level One Bank, Barrett served as senior vice president and director of human resources business partners at Flagstar Bank in Troy, as well as more than 30 years at Comerica Bank in various leadership and human resources roles. She graduated from Central Michigan University with a degree in business administration and management. 

Level One Bank is a full-service commercial and consumer bank with assets of approximately $1.2 billion. It currently operates twelve full-service banking centers located throughout Southeast Michigan and West Michigan.

Additionally, she will oversee content-specific programs for clients, including Valero and Meritage Homes. Rogers will report to Jo Shoesmith, chief creative officer.
