Former Microsoft Senior Executive John Fikany Joins OpTech Board of Directors and Executive Committee

OpTech, a Troy-based IT, engineering, healthcare, and financial solutions provider, Feb. 6 announced that John Fikany, who formerly held vice president positions at Microsoft, Oracle Corp., and Quicken Loans, was appointed to OpTech’s Board of Directors.

In his new role, Fikany will provide ideas to OpTech’s professional services and technology business priorities.

Fikany brings with him nearly 30 years of technology and industry leadership experience. Before coming to OpTech, he worked for Microsoft for 13 years and was vice president of Microsoft’s Central Region Enterprise Business. Most recently, he was the vice president of Strategy and Corporate Development for Rock Holdings/Quicken Loans, where he was responsible for community and employer branding efforts. He was in charge of the Quicken Loans intern program and was also a partner on the Bedrock Real Estate team. Fikany served as a vice president at Oracle Corp. for eight years.

He serves on the Board of Directors for the Detroit Economic Club, Focus: HOPE, Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan, and the Parade Company, and is a Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee Board Member. He is a recipient of the Global Citizenship Award.

He is a graduate of Central Michigan University and recently received an Honorary Doctorate in Science and Technology from the university.
