Plante Moran has appointed Shelly Gower, as director of professional standards. Gower will lead the firm’s assurance practice and will oversee its 24-person professional standards team.
Gower, a CPA, is just the third person in the firm’s history to hold the director of professional standards title. She joined Plante Moran in 1994 and prior to her promotion to director of professional standards, she was the partner in charge of assurance policy. In this role she was responsible for the firm’s audit approach, including implementation of firm-wide auditing standards.
Gower, of Farmington Hills, graduated from Walsh College with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
