TROY — Mackinac Island Tourism has selected Simons Michelson Zieve to serve as its creative agency, the Troy-based advertising agency announced Tuesday.

“Mackinac Island has played an important role in Michigan’s tourism industry over the years. We want to encourage visitors to experience more of what the island offers,” says Jamie Michelson, president and CEO of Simons Michelson Zieve.

Tim Hygh, executive director of Mackinac Island Tourism, says he wanted a creative partner capable of helping Mackinac Island’s hotel and retail partners stay current with Michigan’s tourism traffic growth and opportunities.

To promote guest visits and stays on Mackinac Island, Simons Michelson Zieve will develop a new campaign theme and creative focus to evolve how visitors view one of Michigan’s most iconic destinations.

“We are excited to help create a consumer mind-shift for Mackinac Island,” Hygh says. “(Simons Michelson Zieve) certainly aided our selecting a new theme that will be carried throughout a range of digital, broadcast, and social media venues.”

“The opportunity to partner with such a recognizable and cherished destination brand is a source of pride for our agency,” Michelson says. “As Michiganders, it’s a privilege for us to promote the world of wonders on Mackinac Island.”

Simons Michelson Zieve’s clients include the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Red Wings, Michigan Lottery, Botsford Hospital, and Michigan Dental Association.
