LANSING — Spencer Nevins was named president of the Michigan Beer and Wine Wholesalers Association, representing more than 50 family-owned distributors and 5,000 employees across the state.
Nevins, of Lansing, is currently vice president for regulatory affairs and counsel for the organization, a position he has held since 2006. He will take over in his new role on July 1. As vice president, Nevins worked on Michigan’s alcohol regulations, association governance, government relations, public relations, and coalition building. Nevins helped shape the mission, values and operating procedures of the association while serving as a key liaison with the State Legislature and the Michigan Liquor Control Commission.
Previously, Nevins was a tax counsel at the Department of Treasury. His experience includes serving as a Kalamazoo County assistant prosecutor. He earned his Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from Ferris State University and his juris doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing.
