ST. CLAIR SHORES — Cliff Holmyard and Bryan McShane have joined the team at GHD CPAs and Advisors, one of southeast Michigan’s CPA and business consulting firms. St. Clair Shores-based GHD has been in business since the 1920s and is the state’s 12th largest CPA firm.

Holmyard, an Ortonville resident, has been a CPA for more than 25 years, and is a director in GHD’s accounting and assurance services department. He works with clients and staff to analyze financial data to give clients a more informed basis for business decisions. He has special expertise in automotive dealerships and manufacturing-related businesses, internal controls, and financial institutions.

GHD has a range of clients, including individuals, small to medium-sized businesses and nonprofits. Holmyard’s broad skills will help advance the firm’s mission of delivering the appropriate service to meet each client’s unique needs, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. He also will draw on his background to develop new staff training.

“I was attracted to GHD because of the opportunity it provides a CPA to give full service,” Holmyard said. “We’ve taken the position that our clients are best served by a team that collectively has the skills to help clients with their business challenges.”

Holmyard came to GHD from a CFO consulting firm in Troy, where he served as CFO and controller for several client businesses. He also has worked for large regional CPA firms and was the CFO and controller for the Anderson Automotive Group in Bloomfield Hills. He is a graduate of the Walsh College of Accountancy.

McShane, a St. Clair Shores resident, joined GHD as a senior staff accountant, coming from Danaher Thomson Linear. Before that, he spent more than five years in the Michigan and New York offices of a national CPA firm.

McShane brings expertise, serving clients in construction, manufacturing, and real estate businesses as well as nonprofits. He works in the accounting and assurance services department, providing clients advice on tax planning and business operations, as well as audits, reviews, and other attest services.

He has a master’s degree in accounting from Grand Valley State University and has been a CPA since 2006.
