DETROIT, January 29, 2009 – The Detroit Economic Club (DEC) announced that participant registration for The National Summit began online today at www.nationalsummit.org.

“The opening of registration marks a crucial step on the road to The National Summit,” said Beth Chappell, DEC President and Chief Executive Officer.

“Now everyone who wants to help move America forward can go online and sign up to join us at this unique gathering.”

Early registration will cost $1,095 for DEC members and $1,295 for non-members. Once early registration ends on March 1, DEC members will pay $1,295 and non-members will pay $1,495 for a three-day ticket to The National Summit.

More than 4,000 participants are expected to attend The National Summit, including approximately 200 CEOs from multiple industries. Attendees will include CEO and C-Suite officers, government officials, mid- to senior-level executives, academics, entrepreneurs, young professionals and students.

In keeping with the interactive format of The National Summit, everyone who registers to attend will be given access to The National Summit eCommunity, a private online portal designed to begin the conversation on the four critical issues of Technology, Energy, Environment and Manufacturing.

“The eCommunity will allow participants to discuss and debate the crucial issues facing America in the months leading up to The National Summit,” Chappell said. “It will give them access to important background information, exclusive blogs and useful discussion forums that will create an inclusive, engaged community.”
