Anthony Neely Joins Mayor's Office as Press Secretary

tDETROIT – City of Detroit chief communications officer Bob Warfield announced that Anthony Neely has joined the communications team in the role of press secretary.  He fills the position formerly held by Naomi Patton, who resigned at the end of September.

tNeely has past experience in the City of Detroit communications department, having served as press secretary under former mayor Dennis Archer and as deputy press secretary for interim mayor Kenneth Cockrel, Jr.  He is a former speechwriter for executives at General Motors and most recently provided corporate speechwriting, copywriting and research services through his company, Executive Edge Communications, LLC.

tNeely began his career as a journalist at newspapers in several cities, including the Detroit Free Press.
