Kakaris Family Dentistry is a leading-edge practice that melds the traditional values of patient care with the most modern technology currently available. The result: a place where patient comfort and health are paramount.

When asked, "What makes your practice stand out?" Dr. Arestea Kakaris says simply: "Our philosophy is not to worry about what others are doing, but rather to use our own expertise and experience as our guide in looking toward the future. That has always set us apart from the rest."

Dr. Kakaris has applied that philosophy with amazing results, creating a full-service practice literally from the ground up. "We designed and built our facility with the patient in mind," Dr. Kakaris says. "The architecture is totally different than other dental offices, in that our building features one enormous skylight that opens up the space inside in a very inviting and comforting way." In this place, the sky lights the way to numerous patient rooms. The rooms themselves are very airy and open, and are designed to reduce anxiety and stress.

In the inviting atmosphere of these rooms, a full range of services are painlessly performed - including traditional fillings, restoring implants, cosmetic surgery, veneers, dentures, root canals, and removing wisdom teeth. As Dr. Kakaris points out, "Our patients like us and trust us so much, they don't want to be referred out to other doctors for specialized treatments that we can do - and do exceedingly well - for them."

Whether it's soft tissue or hard tissue, Dr. Kakaris can perform the procedures with expert care, often using lasers for surgical procedures to lessen the pain and hasten the healing process. The doctor even uses a computerized probing system to detect paradontal depth. What’s more, Cerec dental CAD machines are employed to produce "same-day" crowns.

For Dr. Kakaris, however, the real satisfaction doesn't come from having mastered the technology, but from using it to make her patients feel better. She remembers with great fondness one particular patient, a very prim and proper older woman, for whom she created a new set of dentures that drastically improved her smile. After this bit of cosmetic artistry was completed, the woman returned for a customary visit smiling from ear to ear. She told Dr. Kakaris how her friends kept complimenting her on her new look, but that they couldn't quite figure out what she had done. "No one guessed that I had my teeth fixed, nor did I ever tell them," she said with a laugh.

For Dr. Kakaris, this is a story she'll never forget and a patient she always loves to see.
Dr. Kakaris is proud of the fact that her practice is an eclectic one. She takes great joy in treating everyone from small children to teenagers to adults and senior citizens. She also takes great pride in talking about the teamwork among staff members. She employs an administrative, hygiene and surgery staff that includes the "operative" side and the "psychology" side. However, like a fit athlete, her entire staff is cross-trained with a focus on continuing education, creating a situation in which everyone is "on the same page."
Dr. Kakaris also brims with the self-pride of someone who is both dedicated and very, very good at what she does. If asked why she chose dentistry for a profession, she will tell you in no uncertain terms that she is passionate about practicing medicine. However, she adds, "The artistic side is what I like best - like creating a smile for someone that changes their life. It just doesn’t get any better than that."
