Affordable Green-Built Homes in Detroit

Mark Lewis, partner of Community 1st Development in Farmington Hills, which specializes in urban residential development, rehabilitation, and affordable, green-built homes, has sold several energy efficient homes on Detroit far east side, and soon, near Eastern Market and in Hamtramck, near the Poletown plant. The far east side project, called Alter Commons, was recently featured on the Discovery Channel's Green Planet show called Renovation Nation. The homes offer up to 30 percent savings on utility bills, a high efficiency furnace, central air, enhanced insulation, and a number of other green attributes.
