Speaker Bio:

While the Lions' season may have ended in the first round of the playoffs, fans were still treated to numerous nationally televised games this year, and this Lions unit proved they were not the same pushovers from before. They became a force in the NFL and a likely fixture in future playoffs.

Tom Lewand was named president of the Detroit Lions in December 2008, after the team finished the first 0-16 season in NFL history. Lewand will share his vision for the Lions franchise as well as details of this great comeback story--similar to the comeback that Dearborn business is now experiencing.

He previously served as the Lions Executive Vice President and COO.  In his role as president, Lewand oversees all aspects of the Lions organizations. He is the chief player contract negotiator and oversees all day-to-day business operations of both the Detroit Lions and Ford Field entities.

In his formal education, Lewand holds a bachelors of arts (1991), a J.D., and a M.B.A. (1996) from the University of Michigan. He is married with four daughters.
