Art Director

Hour Media is seeking a full-time art director/graphic designer in our Royal Oak office for DBusiness magazine. Primary responsibilities include the art direction and design of Detroit's premier business journal.
Duties include:

    •    Layout and design of all edit pages.
    •    Working closely with the editor to pair the art/aesthetic with the editorial.
    •    Art-directing photo shoots.
    •    Negotiating and assigning all illustrations and photography.
    •    Working closely with our production department to see pages through to final proof.

 A working knowledge of the entire Adobe Creative Suite is imperative. Some business knowledge and editorial and/or magazine experience is helpful. Must be extremely well-organized and pay strict attention to detail. Ours is a very fast-paced environment with strict deadlines, so the ability to work well under pressure is crucial.
